Hello from the newest member of the Wooding Group! My name is Julia Wing. I have spent the past five years working at a CIBC retail branch. During my time there, I made co-workers into friends and clients into family. It was an amazing experience. However, with another year ahead of me I decided to make a change. I took the leap and landed as an Administrative Assistant here. It’s such an exciting time! Everything is different and new. I am using parts of my brain that had long been in hibernation – but the team here is so supportive. To learn a bit more about me, I have a good ol’ Q&A listed below. I hope to be seeing you all very soon and getting to know you and your families!
The mountains. I am from a city in Ontario with absolutely no mountain ranges – I think we might have a small hill somewhere. When I first saw the mountains of Banff, Canmore and Jasper, I wept like a baby. I was in awe of it all. My husband thought I was insane, but it’s an overwhelming experience to see them up close. We recently took the Banff Gondola to the peak. Again, I cried. As you can see I have a pattern of being emotional about nature Haha. The mountains are such an amazing place to recharge and rebalance. Hiking and nature walks are my favourite thing to do.
Mexican food. Guacamole should be served with everything. There are some really delicious Mexican restaurants throughout the city. I have not tried them all, but I look forward to doing so. Pasta is also in my top five. I can eat any kind, any time, hot or cold. Fettuccini Alfredo is like eating a small piece of heaven. I know cutting carbs is all the rage lately and to be honest, I am trying to cut back but there is always a spaghetti, rigatoni or linguine calling my name.
I know it’s cheesy, but my dog Kramer. This little guy melts my heart. We got him just after we got married and he has been such a big part of our lives. Remember those nature walks I mentioned? Yeah, he loves those too. He also loves digging holes and trying to eat things that could potentially kill him. Every day after work I come home and he greets me like it has been 20 years since we last saw each other. I am a lover of all dogs really and have been known to fancy a cat or two as well.
I love Halloween! I have such fond memories of coming home after school and helping my mom put up scary decorations. The bags of candy didn’t hurt either. This year, I went all out decorating my house. Of course it was freezing and pouring rain. I only got 8 trick or treaters so I had to take one for the team and eat all of the leftover candy over a period of a few months. Luckily, my family very selflessly helped me.
So now that you know a little about me, I’d love to learn a little more about you! Feel free to say hello when you come to the office. I will be the slightly nervous looking one with the big smile on my face acting like I have been doing this job for years.
