The Wooding Group has been a member of the CIBC Wood Gundy Chairman’s Council since 1993. This is the highest honour bestowed upon the firm’s Investment Advisors.

Tom graduated from the University of Alberta in 1982 as a Mechanical Engineer, achieving his P.Eng status at Schlumberger, a global oilfield services company.

He began his career as an Investment Advisor in 1985 and was appointed First Vice-President of CIBC Wood Gundy in 2001.

Tom achieved his Certified Investment Management Analyst designation at the Wharton School of Business in Pennsylvania.

He is a Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute, a Professional Financial Planner, a Trust and Estate Practitioner, and Chartered Investment Manager.

Acknowledged by CIBC as one of Canada’s few First Nation’s Trust Specialists, Tom is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, the Investment Management Consultants Association, and the Alberta Insurance Council.

A former Director of the Art Gallery of Alberta, Tom is an avid fisherman, sailor and skier, as well as an aspiring science fiction writer in his leisure time.
