Sorrentino’s Compassion House

Garlic Month 2017

April 7, 2017

As Chair of the Compassion House Foundation Board, Debra helped kick off the Media Event for Garlic Month 2017, held at Sorrentino’s downtown location this past weekend.

In part, she stated: “If you’re not familiar, Sorrentino’s Compassion House is a haven for women battling cancer. The house has 14 suites including a well-equipped kitchen and common areas like our hobby, fitness and library spaces.

If you’re one of our guests, it means that you’ve been diagnosed with cancer. It means you’ve had to leave your loved ones, your home, your community and support systems. Coming to our great city of Edmonton for cancer treatment can be an incredibly emotional time, as well as physically and financially devastating to a woman and her family. The costs of staying in a hotel really add up, not to mention the loneliness of going through cancer treatment by yourself.

By “Supporting a Stay” your gift of $100.00 provides a guest with accommodation for one night! With your support we are able to ease the distress and turn a potentially lonely and scary time into something positive with lasting memories”.
