Peter MacPhie, MBA
In August 2015 Pete joined the Wooding Group as an advisor and has enjoyed working under the guidance of Tom & Debra.
Pete’s goal is to facilitate the engagement of new client relationships to our practice. He’s a keen advocate of helping people understand their goals and objectives; and creating the achievement plan with technology rich tools and strategies. Pete core belief is that always acting in the best interest of clients will build a relationship of life long trust.
Pete began his career in finance in 2000; spending much of his time as a Regional Director at Russell Investments Canada. There, he built his foundation in investment expertise by working for a globally recognized leader in investment consulting and manager research. Russell consults on some of the largest Pensions and Institutions in the world including Boeing, Coca-Cola and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
In 2011, Pete took on the challenge of an Executive MBA from the University of Alberta. Balancing the demands of school, work and a family was challenging for all, but the rewards of that endeavor are lasting. Pete was known by his classmates as an expert in Finance and with the unique skill of taking complicated concepts and distilling them down to their simplest form. That has carried over into his role as an Investment Advisor as he believes his core responsibility is to be able to answer the question, Am I on track?
In his spare time, Pete is dedicated to spending time with his family: his wife Lindsay, the boys Jack, Heath and Harlow. Many weekends are spent in Canmore where he follows his other pursuit of mountain biking. He has participated in endurance races in Canada and Europe and continues to commute to work daily (even in winter!) on his bike in Edmonton.
